The Dallas Zoo saga serves as a reminder to remain vigilant, national accreditor says

The disappearance of two emperor tamarin was the culmination of suspicious events at the Dallas Zoo in recent weeks. The CEO of the Association of Zoos and Aquarium calls it a learning moment.

Weeks of strange happenings at the Dallas Zoo ended on a good note this week — at least for now. Two emperor tamarin monkeys believed to have been taken from the Texas zoo were recovered by police unharmed.

"We are pleased that video from our surveillance cameras – which we shared with DPD – seems to have been critical in generating a tip that led to the recovery of the tamarins ," the Dallas Zoo shared.
