DUTCH MEMORIES

Dear Editor

Once again compliments on such an excellent magazine, even though I have only been reading it for 30 years against 65 years reading a railway magazine!

During my railway footplate experience, I used to have a or a railway magazine in my food bag. For many years I carried a railway locoman’s box with brass fittings, including my name on a brass plate, costing 15 shillings in 1954, now it’s stored with a red flag (ex-Neasden MPD), a gauge glass and rubber seals, and a fish plate bolt and nut. These last items I obtained from a permanent-way man to use in my talks to various senior citizen clubs.
