Sausage and chickpea curry

An alternative use for sausages and chickpeas that is a hit with adults and children alike. The spice level here is fairly mild, so feel free to ramp it up a little if you like it a little wilder.

1 large onion

4 fat cloves of garlic or 6 dinky ones

2tbsp cooking oil

6 sausages

A thumb-sized piece of root ginger

1tbsp ground cumin

1tsp ground turmeric

1tbsp garam masala

A pinch of chilli flakes

400g tin of chickpeas

400g tin of tomatoes

400g tin of full-fat
