PHUTI, TSHOSO AND THE GNU

n 2021, my son Aaron, then aged 16, asked me what species he could target the next hunting season. He had been successful in hunting warthog, impala, blesbuck, blue and black wildebeest and even a buffalo cow. As most of you know, bushbuck hunting in Limpopo Province is not a walk in the park. We booked a hunt in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains where the Poer Zijn Loop runs into the Mogol River. This is prime habitat for kudu and bushbuck, but tough terrain, especially with all the recent rain in the area. The end of April arrived, and we had a great time hunting with three families; a sister and brother took an impala each, their first animals.
