Too often, a reloader may think that a new cartridge case needs no preparation before being loaded, reasoning that the handloaded cartridge might well be similar to factory-loaded ammunition bought over the counter. The reasoning may be right as far as appearances are concerned, but the reloader should remember that he is a reloader and not just a mere bullet plugger. The reloader endeavours to produce a custom cartridge for his specific rifle and should then look at his reloads through a professional eye.
