A few weeks ago, my friend Steve invited my family and me to participate in a driven hunt in Germany. My two daughters and son-in-law were delighted to be asked and quickly agreed. For me, there was an added bonus: I had been asked to be on standby with my dog Jazz in case we needed to search for an animal after the event.

The day was being organised by three adjacent villages that often carry out joint hunts, especially when the game being driven is wild boar, as was the case here.
