Hunters win the second leg

It was with some trepidation that I approached my second trip to the Moselle region of Germany. I’d visited the area with my family a few weeks previously for a driven hunt (Stalking dogs, 4 January), but sadly the boar, the day’s only permitted quarry, had failed to materialise. The ground had been heavily churned up, which meant we needed to wait for things to settle before scheduling a rematch. I only hoped that the hunters would come out on top this time.
