NORDIC CHARM

BEHIND THE QUILT

BLUE AND WHITE

“When I showed this quilt to my daughters, it made them think of the film Frozen – I suspect it would have even more so if the quilt had been made solely with ice blues and silvery-white fabrics. Although the fabrics in this quilt are from a Christmas line, I have only used the blues and reds so it doesn’t actually look like a Christmas quilt at all – maybe more of a winter quilt with a feeling of icicles and night stars.

“Turning the block on point in this design gives added interest to the shapes in each block and also gives the quilt an Irish Chain feel with the 2½in squares forming frames around the quilt top and through the centre of each block.” – Lynne Goldsworthy
