THE MAKING OF: THE FEAR: STORM II

The original Storm was an unsurprising hit when published by Mastertronic on the Amstrad CPC in 1986. We say unsurprising because it would have been more of a shock if this budget Gauntlet clone, released months before the official full-price Gauntlet conversion, had failed. It went on to sell 48,000 copies on the CPC, with total sales hitting almost 200,000 when converted to six other formats. Mastertronic expected this success, as the inlay refers to the game as ‘Part 1’. Further parts were clearly coming.
