I have always been fascinated by birds. Their beautiful, intricate patterns and delicate feathers lend themselves naturally to watercolours. I grew up watching the goldfinches and sparrows in my garden, and always had a paint set nearby to capture them. Much of my book, was painted to the sound of blackbirds chirping outside the window of my sunnythe reference images of birds on my computer screen!
