Perfect balance

Learning objectives

  • Look for basic shapes to draw a bird accurately
  • Practise the wet-in-wet watercolour method
  • Use a limited palette to great effect

I grew up watching the goldfinches and sparrows in my garden, and always had a paint set nearby to capture them. Much of my book, was painted to the sound of blackbirds chirping outside the window of my sunnythe reference images of birds on my computer screen!
