READING Cage & Aviary Birds has been a regular feature in my life for 55 years. The world we live in has changed enormously during that time, so it's no surprise that birdkeeping has also seen some radical changes. Cage & Aviary Birds lives on because it continues to reflect and adapt to those changes.
Our birds, too, have changed. Exhibition budgerigars and zebra finches bear little resemblance to their 1960s forebears, while canaries have also evolved, with new varieties appearing, reappearing or being imported.
