THE LOSS OF AN ICON

Regular readers will be familiar with my friend Ian Jones, who sadly passed away recently. Ian was very much responsible for airgunning taking off as a sport in the northwest of England in the late seventies and early eighties when I first got to know him.

As one of the founding members of Rivington Riflemen, Ian was an ever-present personality for so many of us for decades. I can safely say that Ian was without doubt the most quick-witted and funny person I have ever known. Always ready with a swift joke or mickey-take, time spent with the Blackburn Elf was a joy for all due to his ability to make everything seem funny and less serious
