It’s been a strange few weeks of ‘firsts’ at the garage; an engraved rear hub shearing on the dyno, a customer DELIGHTED with a 5hp engine, and a Vespa flywheel not fastened on properly by the customer! Where do I begin…?

While I appreciate the thought, passion and craftsmanship involved in custom scooters, I’ve always been a fan of the ‘less is more’ ethos when it comes to my own machines; preferring sleek race paint and subtle styling cues. I’ve never had anything either plated or engraved but if I did, one thing I’d consider was whether or not the component was under any stresses or forces from the engine; such as the rear hub for example.
