As we shared last month, Maria’s new steed is a TriBSA. Which can be all sorts of machines – even Triumph themselves were at it once they were merged with BSA. This one has the engine from a later Triumph Thunderbird engine with the enlarged casing for the later, bigger crank bearing. It has iron barrels and head, with a single carb, all standard (we think, haven’t had any need to take it apart – yet).
The power goes to the BSA A10 gearbox which has a lovely, smooth, swift and definite change, driving the rear A65 conical hub wheel. The later BSA forks, front wheel and yokes all hang from the A10 frame and the tank, which we think is from a small AJS/ Matchless, fits quite well. Ignition is 12-volt electronic, with the battery in the toolbox. Maria chose this
