Troubles with trees

People are encouraged to plant trees, but please not too close to their neighbours’ garden fence or boundary. If that happens, too much of the tree overhangs the adjoining property, often causing an obstruction as well as blocking out natural light and sometimes just being too intrusive.

When talking about planting trees in small or medium gardens, can advice be given not to plant trees close to adjacent gardens that will inflict a nuisance on others when they become fully grown?
