It had been a while since I’d spent longer than a few hours in the city renowned for its showbiz residents, Julia Roberts daydreaming and Rodeo Drive designer stores – the bold but beautiful Beverly Hills.

Previous LA trips had been wildly fast, zipping from A to B; to awards nights, interviews and studio tours, spotting celebs and bumping into perfect bodies and plumped-up faces. But this time, what was foremost in my mind was food.
