Show preview images of search results
Text-based search results sometimes don’t include much information, which means when you click through to the relevant web page you find it isn’t what you were looking for. A popular extension called SearchPreview solved this problem by displaying preview images next to search results, but the developer decided to abandon the tool on 24 October. Thankfully, an alternative add-on called Search Result Previews has already become available and works in much the same way.
Available for Chromium browsers () and Firefox (), Search in our screenshot below). You can add further search engines, including Brave Search, Bing and Startpage by clicking its toolbar button and ticking the relevant boxes . It will also display ‘favicons’ (website logos) next to the title or URL of each result, or instead of image previews, depending on your preference. Just click the preview image, the favicon or the title/URL of the search result to open the web page.
