The personal collection
Many people who have columns in magazines and newspapers are high-minded, avoiding using their column for self-aggrandisement or self-indulgence. Not me! Well, not this time, anyway. You see, my father died recently. And for the past 20 years or so we’d been working together on putting together a collection of models of all his cars.
We failed, unfortunately. But only because not every car he’d ever owned has been modelled. Notably, the Nissan Pulsar N13 and the Austin 12. But we found lots of others, including some of the cars he raced in the 1960s.
Some models came to us almost by accident, others were very hard to track down. Here are some
