GOING FROM A TO B

It’s a bold statement, I know, but I still think the MGA is the most beautiful MG ever built. There are many that will disagree but those curvy lines just make it stand out for me. Each to their own, I suppose. I’m not the only one that fell for the looks of the A, as the owner of this MGB, Alan Bradley, felt the same.

Maybe we should let him explain why we are bringing you his MGB. “We saw an MGA when doing the New Forest Run in my MGB GT but I was talked out of it by various friends. It would have ended up as just a show car and never used, as it was so nice.”

As well as the GT, Alan and his wife, Jo, had also owned an MG Midget. With the MGA out of the picture, Alan still persuaded Jo that they needed another MG (without a tin top) and he soon found what looked like a suitable candidate in Auto Trader.

The previous owner had owned this MGB for over two decades. “It was his pride and joy but ithung around until he was home so he could personally hand the keys over. It inspired my confidence in the car, as he was genuinely sorry to see it go. I’ve taken it back a few times to show him it’s still on the road. I paid the princely sum of £3,500; nowhere near what it should have been in 2013.”
