I blended nature and texture FOR A JAPANDI VIBE

MY STORY

We've rented in the UK since moving here from Romania 10 years ago. We were initially living in a one-bedroom flat, but when the children came along, we needed a bigger place. When we viewed this bungalow, I thought the bathroom and kitchen were quite small, but I loved the bright and airy living room. The house was really clean, which isn't always the case with rentals, and it was already painted in this lovely stone colour, so that was a bonus.

Even though we rent, it's really important for me to personalise a space so that it feels like our home. I spoke to the landlord about my DIY ideas, which luckily they agreed to. I painted the kitchen tiles white and wrapped the wood-effect worktops with white contact paper.
