Given that motorcycles are inherently unstable vehicles that will fall over without input or movement, travelling around corners is very different to being in a rather stable car or van – it’s also one of the things that makes riding a bike so enjoyable.
We talked to Ryan Decarteret, National Operations Manager and Coach at Rapid Training to get some tips on how to improve our riding and get the very best out of cornering.
MSL: How do we know how severe a corner is going to be?
RYAN: As always, reading the road is a defining skill. The rider’s ability to gather the right information, early, and in the right detail, will determine the speed it is safe for them to ride through a bend.
