TRIBUTE TO ROBERT WILSON (MR CATERPILLAR)

Dear Editor

We have known the Wilson family for over 40 years through the side of engineering and especially on the side of repairing and restoring Caterpillar equipment. Their knowledge of these great machines was in no doubt the best in the country. Robert or his dad were always available at the end of the phone if we had a problem with a Caterpillar and they would always point us in the right direction to solve it.

About 25 years ago, this particular summer was extremely wet and everyone was struggling with harvesting. One Sunday morning the phone rang, it was Robert asking if I could help him with an idea he had in his head - could we come across to his place after he had been bell ringing.
