TASKER AND FOSTER ENGINES

Dear Editor

Following our conversation I thought you would be interested to see the attached photo of Tasker B2 No. 1431 following its conversion to showman’s tractor for J Rowland. As you know 1431 had previously served the French’s in standard B2 tractor form. I am unable to credit the photographer.

I was interested to learn that you might have discovered some form of image of Foster No. 3267. In 1933 my great uncle Joe French moved from Plumpton to a property named Toll Lodge in the Warbleton area. He had retained the Foster so I think it is quite possible she remained in work with timber in the surrounding area. To the best of my knowledge she was scrapped during WW2. I know you mentioned the images you have are not of great quality but are you able to identify if deep belly tanks are fitted to what might be No. 3267?
