We look at traditions behind the humble apple

WE are, of course, well into the apple-picking season. AG regularly covers the best apple varieties to grow for this purpose or that taste, as well as the best way to plant, grow and prune apples. But rarely do we devote much space to the folklore surrounding apples, or their customs, rituals and, yes, even superstitions. So, I thought I would now!
