wanted to thank you for the article on the Hourglass charity and senior abuse [26 July issue]. I live in a development for people aged 60-plus, and this will certainly make me more aware of what could be happening in the lives of those around me. However, I have to say that older people are not always the victims. I had a neighbour who had ‘reinvented’ his past to obscure the distress he had caused to his family earlier in life.
