DIY Coffee Bar
Remove the door and shelving. Bring in a qualified electrician to install outlets for a mini fridge, small appliances, and lighting. Spackle over any holes and repaint. Measure and cut your countertop material and install it using brackets. For hers, Amanda chose ¾” plywood topped with lengths of laminate flooring, which proved to be both affordable and low maintenance. Cut the old closet door in half, sand the top smooth, and paint. Install it at the bottom of the opening, under the countertop, to conceal a mini fridge or to hide additional shelving. Add a vintage-style latch to give it a barn-door look. Arrange your coffeemaker or kettle alongside containers of hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, candy and other drink-making accoutrements on the counter. Be sure to leave plenty of prep space.
