hot summer came abruptly to an end when I returned from our family holiday in Menorca – suddenly the weather had changed. The Gouldian finches in the outside aviary were looking less impressed with the cooler September mornings, so I brought them in and start their breeding programmes for 2022/2023. It also brought me down to earth that summer was over as I placed the plastic sheeting up for the remaining Aussies whose breeding seasons will commence early next year
