CATERPILLAR WATCH

Look out for black-andyellow lily borer caterpillars that bore into the heart of clivias, agapanthus and arum lilies, resulting in decaying leaves and dying plants. Ask your garden centre for a suitable insecticide.

Fruits of your labour

Did you know that certain plants depend on cross-pollination to produce their fruit, and that cross-pollination increases yield and fruit quality? Cross-pollination is when pollen from one plant is transferred to another with the help of insects (like bees and butterflies). Why not try growing these fruit trees in your garden?
