Bush 'n Buck's name could have just as easily been Bush ’n Bird, because the moment you drive into this place, it's obvious this is a birdwatcher's paradise. As the plover's shrill call welcomes you, hornbills approach curiously, checking if you can pitch a tent.
Even before the sun's rays penetrate the branches of Bushveld trees, they descend en masse.
Make sure your camera is at the ready. Southern pied babblers swarm into your campsite like locusts, noisily hopping around and pecking at the grass. Then the arrow-marked babblers and groundscraper thrushes also arrive, with the weavers and sparrows checking things out from the trees.
