Walking through the shopping centre, the left side of my stomach was aching.
Since discovering I was pregnant a few weeks earlier, the pain wasn’t unusual. What was unusual was how breathless I felt.
‘I’m going to the hospital for a scan,’ I told my partner Anthony, 35, on the phone. ‘Something’s not right.’
