DISABLED FARMERS PRODUCE FOOD IN AQUAPONICS SYSTEMS
Living with a disability is not easy, but a project aiming at empowering disabled people in the Free State towns of Hennenman, Wesselsbron and Kroonstad, is proof that disability should not be treated as a death sentence. INMED South Africa’s aquaponics project aims to give hope to all those living with a disability. The project teaches disabled people sustainable aquaponics farming methods and helps them put food on the table while giving them much-needed skills. The aquaponics project, headed by INMED agricultural facilitator and trainer Mantombi Madona, is fully operational in the Free State.
