MONEY matters

READER QUESTION

Q Can I save money with an NHS prescription prepayment certificate?

A A prescription prepayment certificate lets you get as many NHS prescriptions as you need for a set price. Currently, prescriptions in England cost £9.35 per item. And a prescription prepayment certificate costs £30.25 for three months and £108.10 for 12 months. So, if you’re going to buy four or more prescriptions in three months, or 12 or more in 12 months, it may be cheaper to buy a PPC. Visit for details.
