1940 FORDSON STANDARD N
The Standard Fordson N was probably one of the most important tractors made in the last century. These machines worked tirelessly to feed the nation during the Second World War, and were famous for being driven by members of the Women’s Land Army.
Never before had a tractor played such a significant and important role in agriculture, and it’s a terrible shame that so many of these dependable workhorses finished their lives on the scrap heap. Luckily, though, there are still plenty that survive for enthusiasts to enjoy and restore today, including the 1940 example featured here, which was delivered to my workshop recently for a cosmetic restoration.
