Harvest pears and remove sick leaves

Pick pears before they drop off the tree. They should be firm and have changed colour slightly just before they ripen fully. The sure way to check is to pick one and try it.

Pick off any leaves with spots and blotches to reduce fungal infections. Don’t let leaves stay on the ground beneath the tree because they’ll infect new growth next year. Pick them all up and dispose in the municipal green
