A world of flavour

What did you grow up eating?

Our family was pretty broad in our food approach. Mum’s a Kiwi but she grew up in a lot of different countries, and the way she learnt about those different cultures was through food. Mexican home cooking was particularly important to her but she also lived in Cyprus, Burma, London and those influences crept through too. Dad is Iranian so we also had a lot of Persian dishes. The international array of flavours I grew up with was just what I grew up with, so it didn’t seem strange to me! Mostly, we ate what was in season and what we felt like.
