Joep Stevens is a keen historian who was introduced to the Kruger National Park by his parents in 1966. This ignited his interest in and passion for the Park.

Origin of Berg-en-Dal

In 1981 the SANParks Board approved the construction of a new rest camp in the south-east of the Kruger National Park (KNP) and a suitable site had been identified on the western bank of the Matjulu River.
