Materials

• 2.6m (2⅞yd) white with pink large spot print fabric (applique background and Border 1) — see Note• 42 strips, 2½in x at least 42½in of assorted print fabrics (Rail Fence blocks and Border 2). (A jelly roll is ideal for this project, but you will need to supplement it with several more strips.)• Assorted fat quarters of spot, check and star print fabrics in pink, blue and red (applique)• Assorted fabrics scraps to coordinate with the 2½in print strips (Border 2)• 90cm (1yd) red with white small spot print fabric (appliqued scallops and binding)• 2.25m (2½yd) of extra-wide (275cm/108in) backing fabric• Batting at least 225cm (88in) square• Cotton threads to match the applique fabrics• Size 10 or 11 straw needles• Roxanne’s Glue-Baste-It or similar• Spray starch• Template plastic, black permanent-marking pen and pencil• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat• Sewing machine with open toe embroidery foot (optional) and ¼in foot• General sewing supplies
