Materials
• 1.25cm (1⅜yd) cream dot print fabric (applique background and Borders 2 and 4)
• 25cm (¼yd) light grey print fabric (Border 1 corners)
• 25cm (¼yd) medium grey spot print fabric (Border 1)
• 65cm (¾yd) light grey spot print fabric (Borders 3 and 5)
• Assorted print fabrics to total about 2.6m (2⅞yd). Janelle actually purchased 25cm (⅜yd) lengths of 24 different print fabrics to use in her quilt
• 60cm (⅝yd) solid teal fabric (binding)
• 4.1m (4½yd) backing fabric
• Batting at least 200cm (80in) square
• Template plastic and fine permanent-marking pen
• Rotary cutter, quilter’s ruler and mat
• Sewing machine with ¼in foot
• General sewing supplies
Preparation and cutting
1 Trace each of the applique shapes for this project from the Pattern Sheet onto template plastic using a fine permanent-marking pen. Cut them out accurately on the traced lines. To use these templates, trace around them on the right side of the fabrics, then cut
