THE BIG TOP has been pitched all over the globe, as the sevens circus has welcomed revellers, families and rugby fans alike under the flaps. We’ve had the World Rugby Sevens Series criss-cross the map, and in seven World Cups to date it’s rolled up to Europe, Asia, South America and North America.

Finally it’s Africa’s turn, as Cape Town hosts the men’s and women’s Sevens World Cup, with the kick-off on Friday 9 September and finals on the Sunday.

But with all the on-field fireworks, off-field politics and blurs in between, it can be hard to keep up with the world of sevens.
