Struggling to get back to exericse after having had Covid? You’re not has discovered that pro footballers experienced a dip in their match-day performance up to six weeks after recovering from Covid-19. Indeed, three quarters of those surveyed were still fighting general fatigue 37 days after testing negative, while over half were battling muscle fatigue. The researchers studied 13 players who were infected with Covid over the course of roughly six months and found a four per cent decline in performance across 10 games after infection. ‘The study findings suggest that fatigue symptoms should carefully be considered for a safe and effective return-to-sport after Covid,’ say the researchers.
