J King started in business in 1905 as a threshing contractor at Bishops Lydeard, Somerset. The business grew and by the 1920s they were into road making and quarrying as well as threshing, they also owned a farm and three quarries in the local area. In fact, Kings went on to own six quarries over the years, but not all during
