“It was one of my favourite cakes when I lived in Germany. Originally, it was called Russian zupfkuchen, even though it doesn’t have any connection to Russia. It was called that to make it sound more ‘exotic’. It’s basically a cheesecake with cocoa pastry, and it goes really well with tea or coffee.”
