King of the road

We’re always interested to see vehicles from other parts of the world, including countries such as Malaysia, where restorations are not simply a case of popping to your local VW specialist, or placing a parts order for next day delivery. In fact, securing some of the hard-to-find parts required to restore this particular Bug involved travelling to Japan, as well as the more traditional modern method of ordering parts online from around the world, too. However, as you’ll soon find out, Stephen Pang is certainly not afraid of clocking up some serious mileage to feed his passion for old VWs.

Stephen hails from Petaling Jaya in Malaysia, and spends his days working as an E-commerce manager for Levi’s. But when he’s not working, you’ll find him building and working on old VWs.
