EVERYONE’S AN EXPERT, nobody’s an expert

What does it take to be able to call yourself a parenting expert today? I’m going to be honest: nothing really. Case in point – I’ve been called a parenting expert. Despite saying, “I’m not an expert, please don’t call me that.”

Some folks love to be called experts, though. And parenting is the kind of space where you can really get some attention if you style yourself as an expert. There’s money to be made: tours, workshops, seminars, e-books, mentoring, one-to-one classes, personal guidance, inspirational talks. All you need to do is to get some attention.
