“Hi! My name is Gabriella but my friends sometimes call me Ella, but never Gabby! I'm the youngest of three and I love to bake.”
Can you tell us the story of how you got the role in 13: The Musical?
“I sure can! I was and when I heard there was going to be a movie version, I was so excited to have the chance to audition for it. It was my last in-person audition in New York City in March of 2020 before everything shut down. started auditions again in the fall, but everything was on Zoom so I was really nervous. I had to meet and work with people I admired -- from my bedroom! It was weird but fun. The last day of auditions was on Zoom with a whole group of kids for like six hours. When it was all done, Tamra, the director, said “take a look around, you're looking at the cast of!” After a whole year in the house, my mum and I had to leave for Canada a few weeks later and couldn't tell anyone why!”
