Bussing in: the man who walked the Wainwrights without a car

Bagging all 214 Wainwrights without a car is no walk in the park, particularly when you live nearly 200 miles from the Lake District. Lewis Jevons has been slowly ticking off fells for five years, and the experience has converted him to the joys of car-free travel.

With many of our national parks buckling beneath the weight of post-Covid tourism and petrol costs through the sunroof, his unique take on the Wainwright challenge has captured the national zeitgeist. Here’s how he managed it.
