Some pigeons turned up on the estate recently and were feeding on a field that I shot over a couple of months ago. The two circumstances couldn’t have been more different.
The day a couple of months ago was delayed by two fallow bucks that had become entangled in netting. They had been running around the estate near the road and I had no option but to cull them. It was not the start I’d wanted and was the precursor to what turned out to be a tricky day’s decoying.
