Knitting for a cause
Little patients love little teddies! Getting a beautiful soft toy as a gift certainly takes the edge off a scary emergency department visit. Netcare Linmed Hospital in Benoni is lucky to have a seemingly endless supply of comforting bears, thanks to retiree and “fairy godmother” Theda Swanepoel. Theda has donated close to 500 teddies over the last four years – each one unique! Alan Stroud, unit manager of the emergency department, contributes to the wool to help cover costs.
