Patience and persistence

WE HAVE now entered the time of year when sweeping feathers from the birdroom floor is a regular requirement. The large majority of my canaries are heavily moulting and these include the adult birds that have now completed their breeding duties. When you look around the room, so many birds are at a different stage of moulting, with some of the earlier-bred youngsters nearing completion, while the later-bred ones have just begun to drop feathers.
