Unexpected harbour days are an insufficiently discussed dilemma. You set off, plans made, timetable allowing for tides and crew changes. Then the weather sharpens unpleasantly, the bruises and twinges make you reconsider or – most often – some vital bit of kit requires attention beyond your immediate powers. So there will be a day in a strange harbour. Maybe more.
